How product are handled in EOS.
« on: October 17, 2009, 06:55:29 AM »
The original plan was to publish EOS version 0.60 by now, but it has been decided to add phase 2 for inventory management to the code base before publishing.

Phase 2 of inventory management:
 1. Standard product:
One inventory items per product, or several inventory items per product.

 2. Change sub product to multi products. one parent and many child product that only show under the parent

 3. Change attributes to tags, or zero inventory management.
similar to the old attributes system, but deal with options as  predefined sets.

 3. Add packages, this is like the computer creator contribution for OSC.

Inventory items are groups together as components, you can have one or many components for a package. and one or many inventory items per component. A component can be for tags or inventory items

 4. Add kits, kit is one parent with a fixed list of child items assigned to it.
