Specials - Change the Number per Page

We have recommended not listing much more then 40 items or so on special.  Again, some users seem fine with several hundred items on special...but...you might find that it impacts the speed of your site, searches, etc and you might want to reduce the number of items marked in the Specials table.

I bet some folks are placing more than 40 items in a category. Then, selecting to add category to specials.

What I think needs developing is a report that shows the profit margin and the number of items sold. Where the report shows valuable information to the store owner on which items would be cost effective for making such a discount.

Some good points there, though it may be surprising how many people fail to use either the specials or the featured product system at all.

The Configuration Min and Max values are the correct places in the admin to adjust the number of products that display, such as for specials.  I just wanted to post a quick comment that we have seen some users with large stores post large numbers of products on Special, such as with the Sale by Category.  However, because of the structure of the specials tables on the site...we have seen some users report slow site speeds, especially for searches when there are a large number of products on Specials in the CRE platform.  We have also seen some users who market several hundred items on Special cause such a big performance issue from the large number of items on special they crashed their SQL.  We have recommended not listing much more then 40 items or so on special.  Again, some users seem fine with several hundred items on special...but...you might find that it impacts the speed of your site, searches, etc and you might want to reduce the number of items marked in the Specials table.

Pure OKC has customizations installed from one of our partners. Has our partner been notified? I see this site has been down for maintenance since December.

Also - I reported the "display" issue to my hosting people.  I'm not having the problem myself - but I suspect it will get fixed.

Try checking Admin -> Configuration -> Minimim

and Admin -> Configuration -> Maximums


Look for specials related settings.

How do I change the number of products per page shown in specials?

I have looked in the manual and searched but cannot find the answer.
